Xevi-Dotras-Trio-029_petitXavier Dotras TRIO is a jazz group formed in 2004 in Canet de Mar (Barcelona) by the pianist Xavier Dotras. The ensemble is completed with César Martínez on drums and Toni Pujol on double-bass.

The group has a very personal style marked from the beginning with musical references coming from classical, bossa-nova, traditional Catalan and Mediterranean music. Also, the trio is influenced by the great jazz piano trios and pianists like Bill Evans, Michael Petrucciani, Enrico Pieranunzi or Brad Mehldau. The band’s concerts have a distinct Europen sound.

Xavier Dotras TRIO has published 5 different recordings. These works have had the collaboration of renowned musicians, eg: Gorka Benítez, Carme Canela or Joan Abril, amongst others.

The group has performed in festivas and venues not only around Catalonia and Spain, but also in many important places abroad (England, Holland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Rumania).
